LEADERSHIP. EXPERIENCE. COMMITMENT.
Meet LaVonia
I've lived in Bradfield Village since 2001. A 20-year resident of Buda, I've experienced and seen a LOT of change in our City. I remember Buda before Walmart and Cabela's came to town. I remember when my kids would visit the Buda Market after school and look forward to seeing Mike at the store. My husband Evans and I are parents to Lauren Williams, Martin Horne, Marlowe Horne, Aaron Williams and Kameron Scott-Williams, who all enjoyed growing up in this beautiful City. They attended Buda Elementary, Dahlstrom Middle School, Barton Middle School, and are graduates of Jack C. Hays High School. Throughout that time, I stayed involved and engaged as an advocate for their education. I also volunteered my time with CASA Central Texas as a Court Appointed Special Advocate.
I am an active member of the Buda community in support of establishing a sense of leadership, sharing valuable knowledge and experience, and fostering an environment of community.
Professionally, I have more than 20 years of experience in managing teams, operations, and personnel at the local, state government, and private industry levels. I have worked in business development, Small/Minority/Women-Owned business programs, workforce development, contracting and construction. I am a graduate of California State University-East Bay, Hayward, CA, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. I also hold a Master of Arts in Legal Studies from Texas State University, San Marcos, TX.
